Gert Power and Sadie Rennie of the Golden Age Club entertain for Mardi Gras.
After 54 years, it is plain to see that this winter tradition is alive and well in the community.
Saturday night brought the adult acts to the stage at St. Lawrence Academy.
Chairperson Tony Etchegary thanked everyone who helped bring the 54th annual Mardi Gras to fruition.
Alana Walsh-Giovannini and Paul and Laura Pike were inducted into the Mardi Gras hall of fame as long time contributors over the years.
All three recipients were educators in St. Lawrence and took part in several acts over the course of their teaching careers, while Mrs. Pike has continued the tradition with her first grade classes in the past.
The hospital group, Golden Age Club, St. Thomas Aquinas Choir, St. Lawrence Academy School Choir, Isabella and Olivia Ryan, walking group and Mrs. Denise Slaney's guitar group entertained the audience with music, dancing, skits and frivolity!
The gathered crowd was entirely entertained and everyone enjoyed the acts immensely.
Sunday afternoon saw entertainment from the Bears group, St. Lawrence Academy Primary Choir, Emily Pittman, Robert and Olivia Giovannini, St. Lawrence Academy students and a very cute skit by Sadie Rennie and her grandchildren.
It was again a very entertaining afternoon and audience and performers alike thoroughly enjoyed it.
Old Man Mardi Gras oversaw another successful weekend of fun and friendship!
