The Town of Bay de Verde experienced an influx of voters during yesterday’s (Sept. 24) election.
With 323 eligible voters, 230 made their way to the polls to decide their new council.
Two incumbents failed to earn back a seat, but five familar faces have returned for another term.
The new council is Gerard Murphy with 168 votes; Louis Keats 141; Juanita Emberley 110; Gordon Coish 92; newcomer Karl Coish 86; Gerard Broderick 84; and Dean Potter, another newcomer, with 84.
Those who were not elected were former councillor Carrie Potter with 79; Christopher Coish 75; Harry Bowles 74; Bradley Coish 70; Ross Blundon 66; Cavell Curl 58; and other previous councillor Jennie Riggs with 45.
