Missing Carbonear man found dead

Police have confirmed that a 62-year-old man from Carbonear who was reported overdue from a fishing trip on June 4 has been found dead.

Officers with the Trinity Conception District RCMP, with assistance from the Avalon North Wolverines Search and Rescue Team, recovered the man's body.

The man was fishing with an acquaintance in the Beaver Pond area near Roaches Line.

Police say the death is not considered suspicious, and the man's identity will not be released.
