A 48-year-old Carbonear man is facing charges of growing and selling marijuana, as well as the unsafe storage of firearms following an RCMP search of the man’s home on June 12.

Trinity Conception District RCMP executed a warrant, and seized an undisclosed quantity of marijuana plants, harvested marijuana, cash and firearms.

The man is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, production of a controlled substance and unsafe storage of firearms.

He will appear in Harbour Grace provincial court on Aug. 14 to face the charges.

laced with really sick stuff? nobody would waste their time nor money to lace marijuana with anything, around here, let alone something that would "land you in hospital or the morgue." Nobody has died from smoking pot. the only thing i see wrong here is the firearms, and i'm sure he's not the only one.

Wow, the streets are now safe for all! Every corner store is pushing lethal cigarettes and alcohol to children yet the RCMP are pushing kids (who widely use cannabis) away from education and help into the arms of the drug dealers who don't care about them. The prohibition of cannabis creates the "gateway" to hard drugs because the only reason youth have access to hard drugs is because cannabis is sold in the same black market as the hard drugs. The RCMP are the enemy of youth and medical users who literally rely on cannabis to sustain their lives. Regulation and education, not prohibition. Wake up NL! Citizens of Carbonear have the courage speak out against the tyranny and persecution being foisted on you!

FACT: This "adult" is knowingly producing an illegal product for his own profit. There was unsafe storage of firearms. UNKNOWNS: Is it pure weed or is it laced with really sick stuff? When you buy this stuff, how do you really know that what you're getting isn't going to land you in hospital or the morgue? It's the black market and there are no regulations. Until the laws change, weed is illegal, except for medicinal use... Does it make sense that weed is illegal? Not really. Again, the article also mentioned firearms. To me, that is more reason to make an arrest...drugs and weapons are usually not a good combo!
