Grade 6 student Brandon Petten of All Hallows Elementary in North River raises his arms in celebration after being dunked in a tank of water on Thursday, June 20.

Petten initiated a fundraiser for cancer research at his school recently, which climaxed with the wildly popular dunk tank event. The North River youth was inspired by a family member, who is dealing with the disease.

The school raised more than $1,300 in this end-of-school-year undertaking.
