The Town of New Perlican has put its support behind the annual New Perlican Heritage Day, which takes place on Saturday, July 14.

Council assembled recently to proclaim that the second Saturday in each July has been designated Heritage Day in the town.

This year marks the fifth annual Heritage Day.

Events take place at the Veteran’s Memorial Community Centre, and begins at 1 p.m. Official ceremonies and afternoon tea take place from 2-5 p.m.

Ceremonies include a guest speaker, the new municipal heritage designations for 2012, winners of a photo contest, the unveiling of another dry-mounted “old” photo of the town, various displays and old videos.

The public are invited to help the town celebrate its heritage.
