rinity Conception District RCMP located a fugitive from justice, July 31 and returned him to the St. John’s Community Corrections Centre.

Const. David Marentette said RCMP located Gregory Pike at approximately 2 p.m. Tuesday near McDonald’s Restaurant in Bay Roberts.

The defendant “fled from police on foot into the nearby woods. Police chased and caught Pike without incident.

The RCMP spokesman said, at the time Pike, “was on statutory release after being convicted of armed robbery. The armed robbery occurred on Sept. 16, 2010 at the Shopper's Drug Mart in Carbonear.” The accused, “pulled a knife on an employee in Shopper's trying to rob them. He was arrested forthat offence, eventually pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two and ahalf years.

“He was released from Her Majesty's Penitentiary on July 3 of this year on statutory release to a half-way house,” Const Marentette explained . “On Monday, July 30 (he) failed to comply with the conditions of his release and went absent without authorization. A Canada-Wide warrant was issued for his arrest and it was believed that (he) may have returned to the Trinity Conception area.

“Trinity Conception RCMP continue to encourage the public to report situations of suspicious behavior to police,” the RCMP spokesman concluded.

I hate people who judge other people on their looks. On the outside its just some ink but its whats on the inside that matters the most.Nobody knows this young mans past and we will never know.He made a mistake so what,we have all made them and there is not one person who cant say they didnt. My daughter knows this young man from a couple years ago and she said he is the most sweetest kindest person you could ever meet.So before you go and judge a book by its cover, read the story first.

All you can say is don't be quick to judge, judge what?Your son's appearance isn't being judged my dear,it's his actions.I'm with Tony, your comments are ridiculous! You say I don't know what I'm talking about...read your own comments, all you do is make excuses for your son,who I suppose was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, right? Why,why, why is everybody's buisness now, that's why he's got a criminal record!

"you dont know what is going to knock on your door yet"...well I have to say that looking at this picture I hope that does not knock on my door! I appreciate that some children have a wrong start, but if he has been deemed guilty then he should do his time!

Judging from the comments from his Mom or Moms it looks like the guy was raised to take no repsonsibility for his actions. Don't judge him by his looks??/ Are you kidding me? You have seen his facial tatoos right?? Oh yeah, they means he's an educated and upstanding citizen that contributes back to his society....NOT!!!! Mom your comments are as as ridiculous as the fact that this petty criminal is on the streets period.

I really hate people who judge other people.Everybody took one look at this young man and judged him right away based on his looks. You dont judge whats on the outside,on the outside its only ink,its whats on the inside that matters the most.Nobody knows what things this man has gone through and we will never know.My daughter knows him from a couple years ago and she said he is the sweetest most kindest person you could meet.So before you go judging a book by its cover read the story first.

Walk a mile...don't make me laugh!WHY did he run from Police? Why was there a warrant out for him?Why didn't he comply with the conditions of his release? If he were so concerned about being judged,he would have kept his nose clean and straightened up,don't you think?
