A 20-year-old male from Bay Roberts is facing multiple charges after he allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted police officers during the early hours of Sept. 23.
The suspect's vehicle was stopped by the RCMP in the Bay Roberts area on suspicion that he was operating the vehicle while impaired.
During the arrest, the male assaulted the officers involved and resisted arrest. The officers received minor injuries.
The male was held for court, and has subsequently been released for a future court date.
He faces the following charges: impaired driving, failing to provide a breath sample, driving while prohibited to do so, resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer, and breach of probation.
