The first lights will be lit on the 21st annual Tree of Reflections during ceremonies on Monday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.
Trees will be located at Carbonear General Hospital, the Dr. A.A. Wilkinson Memorial Hospital in Old Perlican, and at the Placentia Health Centre.
The Tree of Reflections is an initiative of the Trinity Conception Placentia Health Foundation.
Each time a donation is made to the Tree of Reflection in memory of a loved one, a bright red bulb will be lit, and the name of the person for whom a donation is made will be hand-lettered on a sign adjacent to the tree.
“The Tree of Life gives people the opportunity to stop for a moment to reflect with love the Christmas’ past and the families, friends and relatives who have shared them with us,” said Helen Clarke, chair of the health foundation’s board of directors.
“The red bulb signifies the warmth we still feel for the departed loved ones and the reflection is for the love we carry with us in our hearts.”
