One man has died as a result of a collision Thursday night on Route 101 at the area known as Snake Hill, near the Long Harbour/Vale entrance.
Whitbourne RCMP received a call of a head on collision about 8:15 p.m.
Police say one man had been ejected from a vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two people were transported Newhook Medical Center in Whitbourne, with undetermined injuries. A third person was sent to the Health Sciences Center in St. John's, again with undetermined injuries.
The investigation is on going and an RCMP traffic reconstructionist has been called to assist with the investigation. Both vehicles will be sent for a mechanical inspection.
At this time in the investigation evidence suggests speed may have played a part in the collision. Alcohol has not been ruled out.
Police are not releasing the names but three of the individuals involved are residents from the Cape Shore and the fourth is originally from Montreal, Quebec.
