A fire broke out at a home in Upper Island Cove on the morning of March 22.
Firefighters battled the blaze while police controlled the small crowd, and helped maintain the chaos.
Neighbours gathered around to witness the extent of the damage, but were kept at a distance so not to disturb the scene.
The owners of the dwelling were not home at the time the fire broke out. Three pets: a rabbit, a cat and a dog did not make it out.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, but it is not being treated as suspicious.
More details to follow.
