Man severely injured in single-vehicle accident

Trinity Conception RCMP responded to a single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning that left the driver severely injured.

According to a news release, the accident happened on Crane’s Road in Spaniard’s Bay. Alcohol consumption is a suspected factor in the accident.

Fire departments and ambulance crews were involved in removing the injured male from the vehicle. He was taken to Carbonear General Hospital and is reported to be in serious condition.

The driver was the owner of the vehicle and its lone occupant. Another person had come across the scene of the accident before reporting it to police.
