A Shearstown man arrested in relation to an animal cruelty complaint on Monday, was arrested again on Wednesday by the RCMP for allegedly threatening the person who made the complaint about possible animal cruelty.

A subsequent investigation by the RCMP into unrelated incidents resulted in the accused also being charged with careless use of a firearm and assault.

The man was held in custody for a court appearance Thursday in Harbour Grace.

I didn't mean literally to let the dog go without food or water in the winter, I have a dog that I treat like my child so I would never do that. Anyways, what I meant was were are sooo many other options to let that dog have a chance at a good life then do what that excuse of a person done to that poor dog.

@ NF If he had opened the door and let the dog go free do you think it would have been more humane with no food and the cold winter weather coming on? Right on, Jeremiah!!!

I hope this horrible, selfish man does major time for what he done to this poor animal, anyone who thinks otherwise should get their head checked!! Why this man couldn't have just opened the door and let the dog go free or bring the dog to the SPCA for a chance at a better life is beyond me.

How foolish are we becoming a'tall, a'tall. Get a grip, folks. Monkeys wearing fur coats (plus their own), people buying suits for dogs and cats, spending mega $$$ on vets, children have almost disappeared!!!! My oh my.
