Donna Bruce was given a cheque for a million dollars today at the Atlantic Lottery office in St. John’s.
Bruce, from Marystown, learned she had the winning ticket a few days after it was announced there was a winner in town. But she waited for her husband to return from work on a ship in Alaska before claiming her prize.
She said she’d like to take her family on a vacation.
The ticket was bought at Marystown Freshmart, and that business will receive a one per cent seller’s prize.
The Telegram will post a video of Bruce discussing her win shortly.
