Town of Carbonear vehicle stolen, burned

A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a vehicle theft from the Town of Carbonear.

Trinity Conception RCMP say they received a call around 4 a.m. today about a stolen 2002 Chevrolet Malibu from the town.

During the course of the investigation, the vehicle was found burned on Lily Pond Road.

The Carbonear Volunteer Fire Department responded, but the vehicle was completely destroyed.

The suspect will appear in Harbour Grace provincial court later today to face charges of theft under $5,000 and arson.
