The Whitbourne detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police is requesting the public's assistance in investigating a hit and run collision that occurred on March 4, between 10 and 11 a.m. in Whitbourne.
The RCMP says a black 2010 Mazda, that was hit was parked at one of two parking lots, either Foodland or Monty's Restaurant parking lot, when it was damaged.
An unknown vehicle caused damage to the front driver's side portion, including a fog lamp being pushed in. The damage was estimated at $1,550.00.
While the damage is not extensive, the RCMP says all collisions with damage over $1,000.00 must be reported to the police.
The motoring public is also reminded that Section 169(2) of the Highway Traffic Act requires the driver of a vehicle that collides with an unattended vehicle to stop and provide their name, address, driver's licence and vehicle registration number to the driver/owner of the vehicle struck.
If there is no one there, they are to leave a written notice with this information on the vehicle struck, in a conspicuous place, then report the collision to the local police.
