A Spaniard's Bay woman has been charged with theft after an arrest in Victoria on July 18.

Amie Hulan, 30, was apprehended at the Irving gas station in Victoria after a theft from a business in Carbonear.

After Hulan had been identified as the suspect by members of the Trinity Conception RCMP, the police found that she had a warrant for her arrest from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.

When the police tried to stop Hulan's vehicle, she pulled into the parking lot of Irving and then proceeded to lock herself in the female washroom.

Police got her out of the washroom and took her into custody.

Hulan has been charged with theft, two counts of failing to comply with release conditions and one charge of resisting arrest.

Hulan is to appear in provincial court in Harbour Grace today (July 19).

I know this young lady very well. She has 2 beautiful children and had a great job. I blame this on her upbringing. Being rasied by an abusive alcholic step dad. I hope she learns her lesson and returns to being the "good" Amie we all know and love :)
