Allan Winfield Potter

Bail for Allan Winfield Potter, a suspected biker gang member accused of assault, was set at $10,000 in provincial court in St. John’s Wednesday.

The 50-year-old’s bail hearing started Monday and stretched into a third day.

Potter and Bradley John Summers, 32, were both arrested on June 28 in downtown St. John’s.

Each man is facing four counts of assault. Two of those counts are joint charges.

Summers, who was released on bail earlier this month, is also facing four counts of uttering threats, while Potter faces a single count of uttering threats.

All charges involve multiple victims, some of whom are listed on court documents as “unknown.”

Summers’ street address on a court document matches that of a home on Hamilton Avenue that was damaged by fire earlier this year in an incident the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary classified as suspicious.

The RNC has also said it suspects that the incident and a drive-by shooting on Dauntless Street in May of this year are related.

The charges against Potter and Summers do not relate specifically to either incident.

Both men have worn clothing in court with designs indicating an affiliation with Hells Angels.
