Things are looking up for avid walkers in the Town of Brigus.
On Sept. 12, the provincial government announced a $15,000 grant for the town through its Community Capital Grant program.
The money will go towards the construction of a new walking track in the Conception Bay North community.
"The new eight-foot asphalt walking track in Brigus will allow people of all ages to enjoy the benefits of physical activity in a safe and inviting environment," said Terry French, the minister of tourism, culture and recreation.
Brigus is the latest community to receive funding to ugrade their recreation and sport infrastructure through capital grant program investments.
"This funding will certainly enable residents of the town and surrounding communities to be able to become more physically active while enjoying the outdoors," said Harbour Main MHA Tom Hedderson.
