Amalgamated Academy students Nick Butler (left) and Caleb Curtis captured a silver medal in the 3D computer animation area of the Skills Canada Newfoundland and Labrador Intermediate Challenge at Mount Pearl Intermediate on Nov. 23.
Nick Butler and Caleb Curtis brought home the silver medal in the 3D computer animation competition held at Mount Pearl Intermediate.
Both are Grade 7 students at Amalgamated Academy.
Butler and Curtis were among the almost 250 junior high students from across the province to participate in 13 different technology and employability competition areas.
"Throughout its 11 year history, the Skills Canada Intermediate Challenge has demonstarted its value as an ideal opportunity to expose young people to careers in skilled trades and technologies," said Carole Ann Ryan, executive director of Skills Canada Newfoundland and Labrador.
Villanova Junior High in Conception Bay South finished in first with a combined 13 medals. In second was Holy Spirit High School in Conception Bay South, while Mount Pearl Intermediate finished in third.
