If Bay Roberts was looking for an indication to continue its nighttime parade, officials need only look at the parade route on Dec. 1.

Hundreds of the town's residents lined both sides of Water Street in frigid anticipation of Bay Roberts' first-ever night time Celebration of Lights parade as a part of its annual Festival of Lights.

The parade could only be classified as a success as a half dozen floats were joined by dozens of the town's residents in the procession.

Dancers from Catherine's Dance Studio and zumba enthusiasts braved the cold to lend their talents to the parade, while various town vehicles towed floats.

In the end, not even the cold could dampen the spirits of children as their faces lit up at the arrival of the big man, Santa Claus.

Not lost in the evening, the Trinity Conception RCMP also light the Chilrden's Wish Christmas tree.

Choirs from Amalgamated Academy and Ascension Collegiate, both in Bay Roberts, as well as the Downhome Accordian Band provided the musical entertainment.

Town officials from Carbonear and Bay Roberts, along with Port de Grave MHA Glenn Littlejohn were on hand to bring greetings.

Donations were given to the Children's Wish Foundation at a total of $2,245.

This parade was the best one I've seen in a long time. To be able to appreciate the time that the float preparers put in to getting ready and to see all the lights to vividly was absolutely awesome. I hope they do it again next year.
