The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is seeking assistance from the public in investigating an assault with a beer bottle in St. John's on Saturday, Dec. 7.

According to police, the assault took place shortly before 4 a.m. in the area of Bishop's Cove at Harbour Drive in downtown St. John's. Through the course of the investigation it was determined that a 21-year- old man and a 23 year old man had been assaulted with a weapon. The younger man received serious injuries, The other man also received injuries believed to be non-life threatening. Both were taken to hospital for treatment.
The RNC said it's believed the incident was witnessed by a number of people and police would like to speak to those individuals. It's also believed that four to five men were involved in the incident, one of which was the main instigator who inflicted the injuries with the beer bottle.
