A cold, searing wind swept along the parade of the Whitbourne Christmas parade on Dec. 14.

Despite the less than ideal conditions, parade participants and residents were not deterred.

The parade featured a number of colourful foats, much to the delight of the many dozens of community members who took their spot along the route. Children patiently waited for their chance to see Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.

When they did, their smiles were enough to beat back the cold a little bit.

There were three awards given out at the event. First place went to the Smurfs, second to Whitbourne Library Boards Penguins and third to Coast to Coast Electrical.

The Compass was there and captured these images.
