A St. John's man has pleaded guilty to child porn charges.
The pleas were entered today in provincial court in the case of Christopher Cyril Lunnen.

Scales of justice

The 31-year-old is charged with possessing child pornography and selling or distributing child pornography. The offences reportedly happened between July 5, 2011, and April 26, 2012.

Lunnen's lawyer Jason Edwards and Crown prosecutor Jeff Summers agreed to schedule the sentencing hearing for April 15. Edwards requested a pre-sentence report.

Lunnen, who was released from jail in March of last year, was arrested as part of a lengthy RNC child pornography investigation, aided by the FBI.

The RNC received a tip last year from the FBI’s field office in Washington regarding the possession and distribution of child pornography material through Yahoo Messenger.

Police executed a search warrant on April 26, 2012, at a local house.

This led to a forensic examination of a computer and multiple mobile storage devices.
