The Town of Deer Lake has contacted the RCMP with complaints about property owners pushing or shovelling snow onto the town roads.

The west coast area has been hit with significant snowfall in recent weeks.

The RCMP is advising property owners and operators of snow-removal equipment that removing snow from a property and placing the snow on a roadway can create hazardous conditions for pedestrians and motorists, and is an offence under Section 163(3) of The Highway Traffic Act.

Somebody should tell that to quad owners in municipalities who push snow from their driveways across the road onto the opposite snowbank. Their snow is then plowed into the neighbor's driveway when the plow comes thru.
