People shouldn't break out their skates for a twirl on St. John's harbour today, despite the fact it looks as if the harbour waters have frozen over.
For a skate, people should stick to The Loop in Bannerman Park.
According to the St. John’s Port Authority, the harbour is not frozen over but rather is covered in slush.
“There’s no major amount of ice there,” said Jeff McGrath, director of marine operations.
McGrath said the slush has the appearance of ice, but there are no navigational concerns.
