Some of the Eastern Horizons Girl Guides from Harbour Grace to Perry's Cove were on hand for the signing of several proclaimations earlier this month to announce Guide Scout Week.

Carbonear Deputy Mayor Frank Butt gathered with a group of guides at the Conception Bay Regional Communitiy Centre Wednesday, Feb. 12.

Victoria mayor, Barry Dooley and Salmon Cove mayor, Gordon King gathered at Persalvic during the week of Feb. 3 for photos with some of the guides to sign proclaimations.

One was also signed in Harbour Grace, but no photo was available.

This year's theme was, "education opens doors for all boys and girls."

Guide Week began Sunday, Feb. 16 and went until Sunday, Feb. 23.

A flag raising for the Carbonear troop took place at the community centre in Carbonear, and a church service was held at Carbonear's Salvation Army Citadel.

On hand for the signings were various Sparks, Brownies, Guides and Pathfinders, as well as Guiding leaders.
