The Town of Harbour Grace is taking steps to fill two management positions, which were vacated just over a month ago.

The facilities manager position at the S.W. Moores Memorial Stadium and the town’s chief administrative officer position are being advertised publicly.

These advertisements come after some hype and controversy over the reasons behind the vacancies. Both women who were employed short term in these positions — Jennifer Janes and Ashley Janes — left abruptly, citing concerns of “threats” to the facilities manager, and concerns for their professional reputations.

Previously rejected applications for both positions were tabled at a public meeting for consideration, but the town’s human resources committee has since decided to seek new candidates.

Applications are being accepted until March 18, so it could be a month or more before new employees are hired.

More to come.
