Guitarist Craig Young has been nominated for an East Coast Music Award this year for an album he cut with fellow guitarist Duane Andrews.
The two are up for Traditional Instrumental Recording of the Year for their album Charlie’s Boogie. The album features a mix of traditional jazz and bluegrass compositions for guitar.
Young grew up in several communities along the south coast, including Grey River and Burgeo. He later found success playing with Country star Terri Clarke and then as a session player in Nashville. He is now based in St. John’s.
The ECMAs will be held in Charlottetown, PEI this year from April 2-6. For more information on Young’s album, visit charliesboogie.com
