No arrests have been made and no charges have been laid in an attempted drug bust that took place in Carbonear last night (April 17).

An RCMP officer from the Trinity Conception detachment said, although a warrant was issued for a raid on a home in the Crocker’s Cove area, there is no body in custody.

Those who witnessed the situation said around 11 p.m. a loud bang was heard in the area, but the source has not been confirmed.

After the bang, dressed officers and members of the SWAT team entered a home on Water Street. A K9 unit was also on scene.

A member of the SWAT unit told The Compass last night it was a drug bust, but there has been nothing to confirm any drugs were found.

The Compass will give updates as they become available.

Organizations: The Compass, RCMP

Geographic location: Cove, Water Street

They must of ratted like everyone else that gets caught and get away with it. The criminal system here is horrible, there really needs to be something done about it. They let the more serious criminals go free because they give information on the less serious offenders. In my opinion they wouldn't even be able to do their job or make any successful busts without the criminals help.

Bob you seem really upset lol you wouldn't by any chance be one of the less serious offenders would you. Well don't worry those people didn't rat you out .see bob how all that ratting stuff works is they have find something and then charge that person first then to get a lesser sentence you can help them out as a way to show the court your sorry. But in this case nothing was found and no charges hence no reason to rat you out bob
