A tip from the general public led to the arrest of a man who is now facing charges of impaired driving.

According to Holyrood RCMP, the 53-year-old from Deer Park was allegedly driving erratically Saturday along the Salmonier Line. The person who helped alert police actually managed to convince the driver to stop his vehicle and wait for officers to arrive.

The accused is facing charges of impaired driving and refusal of the breathalyzer, along with two counts for breaching a recognizance. He already has an impaired driving related matter before the courts dating back to January of this year.

The Deer Park man is scheduled to appear in court Sunday morning.
