In provincial court Tuesday a warrant for the teen’s arrest was initially issued when he failed to show up for his court appearance.
He is being charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon. In June, police were called to Booth Memorial High School in St. John’s when a teen reportedly had a gun in school.
He and the gun were found nearby. The weapon was identified as a pellet gun that was a handgun replica. Nobody was injured in the incident.
The Telegram later learned the teen’s not showing up in court Tuesday was due to a miscommunication that was later rectified. The warrant was then cancelled.
