St. John’s — A woman facing her second set of impaired driving charges in two months has been released from custody.

Kelly Samson was granted bail at provincial court Wednesday with conditions that include a prohibition on driving.

She’s due back in court Aug. 14.

The 30-year-old capital city woman was arrested as a result of an incident that happened just after 6 p.m. Monday on Logy Bay Road.

The RNC says Samson was intoxicated when she struck a parked car on Logy Bay Road in Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove and then took off. Officers found her a short time later and took her into custody “due to concerns that the woman would drive again,” according to an overnight report from the police.

However, no charges have been laid regarding the alleged hit and run.

Samson — who has no criminal record — has been charged with impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer.

But it’s not the first time she’s been picked up for being suspected of driving drunk. On May 10, she was charged with impaired driving and refusing the breathalyzer.

She’s also due back in court Aug. 14 to answer to those charges.
