At least three communities in the Trinity-Conception-Placentia have put bans on outdoor fires in recent days.
The towns of Bay Roberts, Carbonear and Harbour Grace have restricted residents from participating in open fires due to the high temperatures and the dry weather experienced by the region over the last week.
Bay Roberts implented its ban Thursday (July 31) while Carbonear put their ban in place last week and Harbour Grace put theirs in place on July 30.
On July 21, the provincial government placed a fire ban on all regions, citing ‚Äúdry weather and hot temperatures‚ÄĚ as the reason. The forest fire index was at extreme levels at the time.
But on July 25, the ban was lifted for the island portion of the province, no longer limiting residents.
