Two men charged with attempted murder will have bail hearings Thursday.
Stephen Chris Shaw, 31, of Conception Bay South and Jason Marsh, 35, of St. John’s both appeared briefly in provincial court Monday morning, just long enough to have their bail hearings set for Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m.

The two men were arrested in Howley Estates on Friday in St. John’s, the result, police said, of an 11-month investigation by the RNC into two shootings last year. In September, a 21-year-old man was shot at a house on Boyle Street, and in November a 30-year-old man was shot in Kilbride.

Shaw has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a gun, and possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public.

Marsh is facing 14 charges: two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a gun, two counts of unlawful possession of a gun, two counts of unlawfully discharging a firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm for a purpose dangerous to the public, two counts of unlawfully pointing a firearm at a person, and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.
