Juno award winner, Brett Kissel, will take to the Mussel Bed Soiree Concert in the Park stage on Aug. 9.
The Juno award winner is anxious to take in the sights and sounds of Newfoundland on his one and only stop in the province this summer.
In an interview with the Pilot Kissel said, “The band and I have been performing a long time together and we love every minute on stage. It’s going to be a high energy performance from start to finish.”
Kissel, originally from Bonneville in northern Alberta, has never been to the province before and is excited about playing at the Mussel Bed Soiree, especially since he’s the only country musician in the lineup.
With hits like Canadian Kid, 3-2-1 and Started with a Song, Kissel and his band are sure to get the audience revved up at the annual concert.
“We hit the stage and it’s like a foot on the gas pedal,” Kissel said.
He described his musical influences as a mix of traditional and modern country musicians. Johnny Cash, George Jones, Garth Brooks and George Strait have played a large role in Kissel defining himself as an artist.
His “unique Canadian sound” has concert-goers looking forward to hearing some country music from the Concert in the Park stage and Kissel hopes they enjoy the performance as much as he likes to perform.
