The Codroy Valley Folk Festival grounds suffered a break in sometime on the night of July 31.
"They violently broke in,” said festival chair Patsy Brownrigg. “They destroyed six doors with a crowbar, so six doors have to be replaced.”
Brownrigg said for all their effort, the thief or thieves made off with a case of beer, a can of gas, and six bags of frozen french fries.
The damage is estimated to be between $4,000 and $4,500.
“It’s a breaking of the spirit is what it really is,” said Brownrigg. “These grounds were built with blood, sweat and tears.”
Plans are in the works for a benefit concert to cover the cost of the damages. Check Monday’s Gulf News for the full story.
