Corner Brook man charged with forcible confinement, assault

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in Corner Brook has arrested and charged a 65-year-old man in relation to an assault complaint.

It’s alleged a 53-year-old female victim was confined in a home by the accused on July 12.

The RNC said the accused and victim know each other. The woman sustained what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries as a result of the incident.

The suspect from Corner Brook has been charged with assault and forcible confinement. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in provincial court on Sept. 23, 2014.
