Brigus face painter Jessie Downey was a busy person this weekend. She more than likely painted the face, or appendage, of hundreds of young children from all over the Trinity-Conception-Placentia region. Here she paints the face of Brody McCaul.

The annual Brigus Blueberry Festival brings thousands of people to the Conception Bay North community to celebrate blueberrys and good times.

This year's edition, the festival's 27th year, was no different Aug. 7-10.

The streets were packed with both cars and visitors aimed at enjoying some blueberry pie and live music. It helps the event takes place in the heart of historic Brigus.

The festival had a little bit of everything. There were multiple bouncey castles for the children, games of chance, face painting and airbrush tattoos.

A dozen food vendors kept the masses fed, while the music brought people to their feet for a scuff.

The Compass was there and captured these images.
