A Conception Bay North man accused of sexual assault had to be escorted from provincial court in Harbour Grace today (Aug. 22).
The man, whose name cannot be released due to a publication ban, was carried out of court by two sheriff's officers and an RCMP officer before being placed in a crusier. He was then taken back to the RCMP building in Harbour Grace.
He was in court for his first appearance on two counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual interference.
The accused is currently undergoing a phsyciatric assessment at the Waterford Hospital in St. John's.
He will remain in custody until his next court appearance on Aug. 29 in Harbour Grace.
