RCMP say one man was sent to hospital on Thursday after a drumptruck that was travelling North on Highway 410 lost two tires off the rear axle and it hit the SUV he was travelling in.
Corporal Justin Hewlett says the Highway Enforcement, along with RCMP, are still investigating what caused the tires to come off the dumptruck.
The tires hit the SUV, which was southbound at the time, and injured the driver. No one else was injured in the incident.
The man was later released from hospital. Hewlett says the truck belonged to J-1 Contracting out of Clarenville, and was enroute to a road construction project on Route 410 near Fleur de Lys.
