Cabot Academy, Coley’s Point Primary could earn up to $10,000

Two schools in the Trinity-Conception-Placentia region have the opportunity to earn thousands of dollars worth of books for students.

Cabot Academy in Western Bay and Coley’s Point Primary in Bay Roberts are in the running to receive funding towards their libraries from the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation.

Indigo is hosting the Adopt a School campaign, where 30 schools — three from each province — will win up to $10,000 in Indigo gift cards to purchase reading material for the schools’ libraries.

Schools are chosen based on need, those with less funding for library programs were chosen by the organization to participate. To win, they need the help of the public.

Every day from Sept. 20 to Oct. 10, you can vote for your local school. Visit https://adoptaschool.indigo.ca and click on Adopt a School. Pick your province and vote for the school you believe should receive the funding.

The first place school will receive $10,000, the second place will receive $7,500 and the third will get $5,000. There is also an option to make a donation, which will give your chosen school a book and ten votes.
