Dear editor,
I'm disappointed by the very defensive tone of the mayor's response.
This isn't a 'spring clean-up' issue, and to try and pass it off as such is irresponsible and inaccurate. Again, the first step to fixing any issue is to acknowledge there is one. I don't see such a willingness in the mayor, so I have little hope that while he is in this position, things will improve. His taunt about Ms. Yetman and 'her buddies', that they should have run, is both childish and disrespectful.
Citizens have a right to voice their opinions, first of all, and to be heard. That said, while his manner of suggestion was rude and dismissive; perhaps it's not such a bad one. Perhaps it's time for some new blood, who have a tad more energy to clean things up around town.
