Dear editor,

Thanks to the Compass and reporter Denise Pike for her well written and most needed accounts of the drug situation in our area.

Keep up the good work!

We have to wake up now to the reality of what is going on right at our doorsteps. Let's be more aware of the signs in our young people that show up with drug use, cooperate with the RCMP and schools about drug education, talk to our children constantly about this terrible way of life, and give out reading material to young and old alike to increase this awareness.

Letters to the editor -

Dear editor,

Thanks to the Compass and reporter Denise Pike for her well written and most needed accounts of the drug situation in our area.

Keep up the good work!

We have to wake up now to the reality of what is going on right at our doorsteps. Let's be more aware of the signs in our young people that show up with drug use, cooperate with the RCMP and schools about drug education, talk to our children constantly about this terrible way of life, and give out reading material to young and old alike to increase this awareness.

Addiction of any kind is destructive.

I commend the young lady, Penney, for seeking help with her addictions and just this week again the other account of a man named Phil who went through both sides of drug usage and selling. Thank God these two people are on the healing side of it all. Good for them!

I still don't know what those needles I found last year were used for and what substance was used. I wish now I had asked the RCMP officer to keep me posted on it. We're seeing more evidence of this type of lifestyle daily. Let's step up to the plate and do all we can to stop it.

God didn't give us these wonderfully made bodies to abuse them in this way. God help us all to help them.

It was only recently that a drug pusher
got deported to the USA to serve jail time. Hats of to the RCMP, they got their man who is influencing and ruining our children. Behind that smile and sneakiness of a hometown folk could be the marketer and pusher for the big drug gangs.

I think when someone is caught pushing drugs the police should confiscate everythinh they ever owned. Their bank accounts, home, property, throw them behind bars for not less than one or two years.
