The Burgundy Team was the A Division champions of the Gravy Boat Slowpitch Tournament in Long Harbour held during the second weekend in August. Team players included: Front (l-r) - coach A Division Bev Bruce, Marion Fowler, Karen Yetman, and Brian Keating; back - Evan Brothers, Mike Kelly, Scott White, John Keeping, Wayne Bailey, and Brian Griffiths.
Even the rain over the weekend didn't stop the Gravy Boat Slowpitch Tournament from succeeding once again this year as the tournament was held in Long Harbour-Mount Arlington Heights during the second weekend in August.
There were eight teams decked out in varying colours playing in an A Division and a B Division.
The Burgundy Team took home top honours with the A Division Championship. That team was coached by Bev Bruce.
"Long Harbour is a terrific little town with lots of great people. Even the rain didn't stop us from having fun," Ms. Bruce said. "Each year our tournament keeps getting bigger and bigger. I would like to thank everyone who participated in the tournament and to those who helped me pull off another successful tournament."
The B Division Champions, the Blue Team, was coached by Rolanda White and assistant coach Eddie Bruce.
