Jason Morgan of Bay Roberts (right) had the opportunity to meet one of his hockey heroes last week, and he wasn't disappointed. Morgan was one of dozens of fans to show up at Hickman Motors in Carbonear on July 29 for an autograph session with former Montreal Canadiens star and two-time Stanley Cup champion Stephane Richer. Morgan is a huge Canadiens fan, and proved it by showing off a tattoo on his left arm of former greats Jean Beliveau and Maurice "The Rocket" Richard. Richer was in the region promoting an exhibition game scheduled for Oct. 11 at the S.W. Moores Arena in Harbour Grace between the Conception Bay North CeeBees and the Monrtreal Canadiens Legends. Tickets go on sale Aug. 19.

Stephane was a real go getter when he played for Montreal Canadians. I am happy that he is now a good role model for our younger hockey players.
