Tonight's (Dec. 7) Newfoundland Senior Hockey League game between the Conception Bay North CeeBee Stars and the Clarenville Caribous has been cancelled after a motor vehicle accident near Goobies caused the closure of the Trans Canada Highway.

The call was made roughly 6:30 p.m. after the RCMP announced that the TCH at the site of the accident would remain closed till at least 8:00 p.m. which impeded the Caribous efforts to get to Harbour Grace.

The game was scheduled to start 8:30 p.m.

The cancellation means the CeeBees' debuts of forward Chris Hulit and defenceman Nick Theriault will have to wait until Game 2 of the series Saturday (Dec. 8) night.

Saturday's game is still scheduled to go ahead at 7:30 p.m. at the S.W. Moores Memorial Stadium in Harbour Grace.
