Pitcher Colin Parsons of the host Conception Bay North team delivers to the plate during a game against Gander Friday afternoon in Upper Island Cove during action at the provincial bantam AA baseball championship.
The meeting comes on the heels of what officials are describing as a
successful coaches and executive forum on Oct. 18.
One of the most significant changes this year is the way in which executive members will be selected.
In the past, the organization used an appointment process that recognized
the three former associations that merged to form Baseball CBN in 2011.
Beginning this year, the process will be an open one, said Baseball CBN
director Scott Adams, one that recognizes the many communities represented by the association.
The annual meetings begins at 7:30 p.m., and those ages 19-and-over are
eligible to vote and accept nominations for any position on the executive.
Positions include the following: president, vice-president, treasurer, registration co-ordinator, coaching director, umpire-in-chief, all-star
director, house league director, female program director, public relations
director, equipment co-ordinator, apparel co-ordinator, and facilities
Following the election, the new executive will be available for questions
from parents and players.
"Our program needs committed volunteers to maintain and improve on the
successes we've experienced in the past three years," said Adams.
