CeeBees and Blades in home-and-home; Royals host Flyers

The Newfoundland Senior Hockey League swings back into action this weekend with a marquee matchup between the league’s top two teams.
First-place Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts take on second-place Clarenville Caribous at the Clarenville Events Centre 7:30 tonight and 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Only five points separate the two teams in the standings, with the Cats leading with 25 points in 14 games.

There are six games overall on tap to kick off the new year, which began last night at the Mount Pearl Glacier when the C.B.N. Eastlink CeeBee Stars dropped in on the H.J. Bartlett Electric Blades in the first game of a home-and-home series that continues 7:30 tonight at the S.W. Moores Memorial Stadium in Harbour Grace.

In the other series this weekend, the Western Royals play host to the Gander Flyers 7:30 p.m. today and 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hodder Memorial Recreation Complex.
