Cats back on track with a win over Cee Bees

Most of the action in tonight’s game was in front of the Cee Bees Stars net. In this play Cee Bees netminder Roger Kennedy made one of his 24 saves but the Cee Bees were unable to hold back the Cats who secured a 7-1 win.

After losing two games against the Royals to begin the new year the Cats are back on track with their third win in a row.

They defeated the Cee Bees Stars tonight 7-1 in front of hometown fans.

The first period saw just one goal, scored by Cam Fergus. The assist went to Andre Gill and Rob Hennigar.

The second period had the total of three goals. Andre Gill scored with just 7:14 gone in the period while the Stars Ben Duffy scored almost halfway through the period. The third goal was scored by Brandon Nicholas with a nice passing play from Sam Hounsell and Greg Hoffe.

The Cats came out strong in the third period with three more goals. Andrew Pearcey, Brandon Street and local boy Alex Dalley each had a goal. Veteran player Ray Daulton had the only goal for the Stars in the period.

There were a total of 11 penalties in the game. The Cats had eight while the Stars has just three.

The Cats next action home will tomorrow against the Cee Bee Stars at the Joe Byrne Memorial Stadium.
